7 Tips to Develop your Self-Care Night Routine

We always focus on morning routine because we know how getting up early contributes to our good health and that because early morning exercises boosts up our energy better than evening ones. But sleeping early is as important as getting up early. And that’s where your self-care night routine will help you. In managing your nighttime well and sleeping at the right time.

Love your life

For developing an everlasting self-care night routine, I have few tips for you and without any further delay, let’s proceed towards those tips.

1. Early Dinner

It took me ages to realise that how my body was affected adversely by late night dinners. But as we say ‘it is never too late to learn’, now my dinner time is fixed to 8.

Early dinner

Now coming to the point, try to finish your dinner at least 3 hours before you sleep. So once you go to the bed, your stomach bag is not full which leads to many health issues. Also, If you’re having dinner too early say between 6 to 7, feed your body well. Otherwise, you may feel hungry while going to sleep resulting to munch on unhealthy snacks.

2. Plan Ahead

Learn to plan in advance. And the night is the perfect time to think about what you’re going to do tomorrow. This way you may know about a better way of scheduling tasks. Also, what should be on top priority.

3. Read a Book

Reading book

Reading is a good habit and always remember ’books are our best friends’. I love to spend at least an hour reading my favourite books just before going to bed. I like non-fiction or self-help books. You can choose whatever you like including a magazine or blog. You may even try audible books where you can listen to your favourite books while doing other tasks. Presently, an offer is going on where you can Try Audible and Get Two Free Audiobooks.

4. Sleep Meditation

Sleep meditation

For those who find it difficult to sleep, I highly recommend sleep meditation. That means lying down on your bed in a relaxed position and meditate to sleep. Headspace has a meditation for sleep program through which they help you in sleep or here is a video on sleep meditation by Calm.

5. Bedtime Skincare

Self-care includes skincare too. Right? I have my own night skincare routine. But you may prepare your own. I start washing my face. Then I apply toner absolutely herbal one by Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner with Himalayan Waters for Normal to Oily Skin -120 ML or if you aren’t able to find it, you may try BODY SHOP VITAMIN E HYDRATING TONER 250ML which is easily available online. Afterwards, I apply Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturising Night Pot 50 ml. I have another good option for you and that’s Cetaphil Rich Night Cream 50g. One bonus tip is never to sleep with your makeup on including eyeliner and Kaajal.

6. Stay Away from Gadgets

Hate gadgets

I hope you’re already aware that our gadgets like laptop, desktop, mobile or even tablet dispense blue rays which makes our brain active. Resulting in a lack of sleep (unfortunately, the mind tends to believe it’s a day) and sometimes you’re actually tired but mind won’t believe.

7. Write Gratitude Journal

Gratitude journal

Most importantly, make a habit of writing a gratitude journal on a daily basis. Best if you include this habit in your night routine. Because at the end of the day you have many things to think about and how it affected your life. You may try The Calm & Mindful Notebook – Guided Self Care Journal with Writing Prompts – A5 Gratitude Journal to Promote Mindfulness, Self Kindness, Meditation, and Stress Relief

That’s all about my tips to you for developing self-care night routine. I am sure after adapting these tips you’ll find a new in you.

Last but not least, please let me know if you have any night routine so hardly incorporated in your life that you can’t live without it.

    1. That’s really nice to know. And it’s better to spend time with books before sleeping than to spend time on mobile phone and social networking.

      Thanks for the comment.
